ELECTRIC OUTBOARD TROLLING MOTOR

E-DRIVE

On many lakes and waterways, emission, speed and noise restrictions prohibit the use of gasoline outboards. Minn Kota answers the call with the E-Drive electric outboard.

E-DRIVE TILLER
All the great features of the E-Drive Electric Outboard, with a convenient Tilt Tiller providing primary propulsion and comfortable, ergonomic control. The Tilt Tiller features an easy-to-see, real-time battery gauge on the control head and the clamp-on transom bracket mounts easily to most aluminum V-hull boats.

ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL
Ultra-responsive throttle lever has forward, neutral and reverse positions. Includes key lock-out, trim switch and realtime battery gauge. Mounts either binnacle or side-mount at the cockpit.

REALTIME BATTERY GAUGE
The E-Drive features a back-lit Realtime Digital Battery Gauge, giving you an instant reading of how many hours of runtime you have left on your battery. Also features fuel gauge showing battery condition, as well as throttle power level.

Connects directly to your boats standard cable steer linkage.

BOLT-ON TRANSOM BRACKET
Includes power tilt mechanism and a built-in breakaway mount that protects the motor from underwater collisions.

BUILT-IN DIGITAL MAXIMIZER™
Digital Maximizer™. Up to five times longer run time on a single charge.

Conventional speed coil technology wastes energy by delivering a constant, steady flow of power to the motor regardless of the speed setting resulting in wasted energy.

Pioneered in 1985, Minn Kotas innovative Maximizer™ technology delivers the precise amount of power needed at any setting, along with variable speed control. Now, our advanced, digital microprocessing optimizes draw to extend battery life and reduce damaging heat. Get up to five times longer run time on a single charge.

TILT GAUGE
Dash-mounted tilt gauge provides an instant readout of motor position. Not available on E-Drive Tiller model.

STAINLESS STEEL PROP
Stainless steel prop utilizes a special shear pin that protects it from damage when encountering underwater obstacles. Also features a replaceable, hub-mounted zinc anode to fight galvanic corrosion.

WARRANTY
2-Year Warranty E-Drive Electric Outboard motors feature Minn Kotas two-year warranty.

E Drive has poor reliabilty June 9, 2009

Do yourself a favor and buy an outboard motor. This unit has been nothing but trouble. The Main board has "burned" three times in three years and had to be replaced. The first two times it was covered by the waranty, now the third time it costs $735 dollars since Minn Kota changed the throtle design and you now need to install a conversion kit. Minn Kota is not what it used to be and I'm very disappointed in this product. To me, it appears they have a design flaw and are attempting to fix it by a redesign and are charging their customers way too much. I dont understand why they cannot repair a product that cost nearly 3K for a reasonale price.  I expected many years of trouble free service, however, I've experienced nothing but grief due to the yearly repairs and very very expensive repairs.  Again, very poor reliability, I average about 100 hours of use before the the main board burns and is destroyed.
