Installation Pro-Tips

• Insert Seating: Before snapping your chosen insert into the cap, ensure the recess is clean and dry. Once the insert is pressed into place, it is designed to be permanent.

• O-Ring Maintenance: To prevent the cap from seizing and to ensure a perfect seal, apply a tiny amount of marine-grade silicone grease or PTFE lubricant to the O-ring once a season.

• Chain Attachment: When attaching the safety chain to the fill body, ensure the screw is tight. A loose chain is the #1 reason caps end up at the bottom of the marina.

• Don't Over-tighten: Hand-tight plus a quarter-turn with a key is usually sufficient. Over-tightening can compress the O-ring to the point of failure or make it nearly impossible to remove at the next fuel dock.
